The Plaza

For nearly 400 years, the historic Plaza has been the heart of downtown Santa Fe. As you gaze upon the Spanish-American Colonial architecture – perhaps at San Miguel Mission, one of the oldest churches in the United States – you are instantly transported back in time. The old Santa Fe Trail once had its terminus here, and if you listen closely, you can still hear explorers, traders, pioneers, and Native Americans whispering in the winds.

But the Plaza is hardly a dead artifact. It’s alive with the spirit of contemporary Santa Fe. You can enjoy the annual Fiestas de Santa Fe, visit the Santa Fe Indian Market, or enjoy fine dining and art. During Christmastime, the streets and buildings are alight with farolitos and luminaria.

People travel from around the world to see Santa Fe’s Plaza. At Monte Sereno, the Plaza is our backyard.
